What Our Clients Say
My husband and I have had 2 or 3 advisers prior to Maxine and my experience was usually mild bafflement as I tried to grasp what they were recommending and why. When we moved to Maxine, it was the first time I had really understood what was going on. She is very patient with the likes of me but also very professional. Her advice has proved to be first class and her support during the illness of my husband, and subsequent death, has been enormously helpful. She definitely ‘went the extra mile’ and continues to be someone I trust completely.
I have known Maxine for a number of years, whilst I was still working and since my retirement. As her business expanded I have also got to know Sarah, equally as well.
They are both, in my opinion, very professional, knowledgable, and able to explain all scenarios in easily understood language.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for pension and financial advice and assistance.
I was referred to Maxine by my former employer (The Kings School, Canterbury) for advice on my pension and retirement options. On retirement she advised on options for the lump sum, I received and since then has continued to advise both myself and my husband on all our financial matters. She has always taken time to assess our needs and the level of financial risk we would be comfortable with. She has taken the trouble to look at all our accounts and ISAs and overtime has managed to simplify them and make them easier for us to keep track of. She has been happy to come to our home to discuss any concerns we have had and she also pointed out the value of setting up Powers of Attorney, which she has now done for us.
At all times we have found Maxine friendly but very knowledgeable and informative and has always taken the trouble to explain things in a way which is easy to understand. She has never tried to force us into doing anything with our money that we were not comfortable with and I would be very happy to recommend Maxine to anyone who requires financial advice on their retirement.
Maxine Powell has been the family’s financial adviser for over 7 year. The relationship started when she was working at another practice and when she moved on we insisted she took our work with her. We have confidence in her advice and we have built up a good relationship with her.
My wife and I are retired and our pension income is currently adequate for our needs. Our brief to Maxine for ourselves (and our daughters) was to secure capital growth. She explains issues clearly for those who do not have a financial background and responds well to my concerns as one who is well versed in the general global issues, but not the technical detail and the best vehicles for investment available to suit our concerns. Our portfolio is widely spread and has performed very satisfactory.
